Patient Information

Making an appointment

Patients need to be referred to one of the Medical Oncologists by their treating Doctor.

Please contact us on 07 4602 0396 to make the relevant appointment.

First Appointment

Please allow additional time before your scheduled appointment to fill in a New Patient Registration Form.

New consultations are usually between 45 to 60 minutes long.

Please advise the reception staff of any recent CT scan, PET-CT scan or blood and pathology testing you may have recently undertaken to ensure your Oncologist has access to reports prior to your appointment.

What to Bring to your First Appointment

Bring a list of your recent medications as these are not always listed on the referral from your doctor.

Please bring a copy of your referral if not already forwarded to the practice.

Please note: A referral from a specialist is valid for three months only.

After your initial appointment please ask your GP for an indefinite or 12-month referral. Without a valid referral, you will not be able to claim a rebate from Medicare.

Fees/Payments

For all outpatient appointments in the rooms that do not involve intravenous chemotherapy, there is a fee payable on the day.

Medicare rebates part of that fee to you, and this will be submitted to Medicare on your behalf at the time you are seen.

Appointments on the same day as intravenous chemotherapy administration are mostly covered by your Health Fund and any out-of-pocket costs will be fully disclosed before starting treatment. Please don’t hesitate to contact us regarding this information.

The Practice does not Bulk Bill.
